Travel Guide Gdańsk

Gdansk, surrounded by wooded countryside, is a thousand-years old city on the shores of the Baltic sea in the north of Poland. It has a picturesque Old Town, thriving cultural scene and a great choice of accommodations. Modern Gdansk is a city of 500,000 people and the most important part of the Tri-City conurbation.

The thousand-years old Gdansk is one of the top Polish destinations, offering visitors a combination of history, architecture, art and relaxation opportunities. Nearby Sopot is a prime beach and entertainment resort and the surrounding areas cater to pursuits ranging from sailing to country walking to hunting. A weekend trip to Gdansk will give a visitor a taste of the region, but the city and the surroundings will easily fill a two-week holiday. August is the busiest month, especially during the two-week Dominican Fair.
